Deidra & Hailey here! Welcome to Meraki Collective, a space where we hope you are inspired to stye a life that you love! Whether that’s through the clothes and accessories you pair together for that empowering and bold outfit, pieces that turn your house into a home or something new and fun that just flat out brings you joy, we hope you find that here. Our goal and mission is to sell things that are uplifting and bring soul, creativity and love into your lives. We have learned that there is truly no space for negativity, so shut out those haters and embrace the things that you love, that challenge you for the better, and that bring peace to your soul!
Meraki means to put a piece of yourself into your work. You are one of a kind and truly incredible. Tap into your unique talents, embrace them and live a truly beautiful and confident life. Live a life of intention and purpose and find your meraki moments. We have learned to recognize and celebrate these moments and want to share some impactful moments of meraki that really stand out in our lives.
Deidra
I am very type A and I always have been. I’ve ran by schedules and to do list my whole life and am constantly striving to hit that next goal. To be honest, it’s caused a lot of stress and anxiety for me even in my younger childhood years. But despite the stress, the schedules, routine and checklists made me happy and helped me to grow. I have two beautiful younger sisters who are insanely creative and artistic and I was always envious of that. Ask me what talents Hailey and Kameron have and I’d spout off a dozen for each easily. Ask me what my talents are and I would freeze - compared to them, I didn’t have any. Well my type A personality did help me to grow, land a great job at a company that I’m proud to be apart of and start building a family (not while realizing I had to have had special talents along the way to make this possible).
One thing that I did pride myself on was that I wanted to be everyone’s hype girl! I genuinely wanted to see others succeed and I promise you that I will be the first one to show up to congratulate you and throw you a big celebration! And that is just what I would do - throw a party, host an event, put together a cute girls night to celebrate the fierce ladies in my inner circle. It brought me so much joy and guess what? I learned that I was pretty dang good at it! Here comes my meraki moment - I am a creative person and I could take my inner joys and passions to create celebrations for others with no detail left unnoticed. Once I untapped this new talent I couldn’t stop creating. I started a blog called Perfectly Paired Parties and would even put events together for people with a couple of my best friends - including a full blown wedding while 8 months pregnant with my daughter! I was having a blast and learning a lot about myself a long the way. I’ve gone on to expand these talents into creating 2 brands with my sister and Meraki Collective is by far my favorite!
I plan to continue putting a piece of myself into all of my work to not only style a life that I love but to bring every Meraki Collective customer a similar experience and help them find ways to inspire, create and love!
Hailey
I am a true Virgo. I am a big time perfectionist and a lover of creating beautiful things. When I create an outfit or a space in my home, I put my whole heart and soul into it. I have even been known to sketch out an outfit or decorating plan. If I can’t find the exact piece that I’m looking for, I create or upcycle something. I’m a little obsessive when it comes to a perfect aesthetic. I believe that how you dress is how you choose to present yourself to the world. I also believe that how you curate an aesthetic in your house is how you create a home. Meraki to me is all about creating a life filled with positivity, love, and beauty.
Anybody who knows me personally, knows my fertility story. Over the past four years, I have lost four angel babies, gone through multiple doctors and forms of testing, found out I possess a genetic abnormality, gone through a crazy IVF journey, and finally am 26 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl. This has been a HARD journey to say the least. The one thing that truly has saved me (even ask my therapist) has been making time and space for myself to create. I have truly found that embodying meraki is life changing. I put a piece of myself into my everyday life in order to create a life I love, and keep me sane. Whether that is putting extra creativity into a normally mundane weekday makeup look, putting soul into the food I make for friends and family, or putting love into the way I style my home. A Meraki Moment to me is all about creation and romanticizing life.
